  •  Two tablespoons unsalted butter
  •  1 cup diced onion
  •  Two cloves garlic, minced
  •  Two cans (14.5 fluid ounces each) reduced-sodium chicken broth
  •  4 cups bite-size broccoli flowers

  •  2 cups grated Cheddar cheese
  •  2 cups half and half
